Overview

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) fees are adjusted every two years to align with inflation for all permanent residence applications, including those under the economic, permit holder, family, and humanitarian classes. The current fee schedule took effect on April 30, 2022.

Many Canadian Immigration Visa Offices accept fees in local currencies, but these amounts may vary with exchange rate fluctuations. It’s advisable to use the following tables as a general guide and to consult your local Embassy for the most accurate figures.

Fees must be submitted alongside your Canadian Immigration Application and are refundable before the application assessment begins. If any provincial fees are applicable, they should be paid at the time of submitting your application to the province. The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) can be paid any time before your Permanent Resident Visa is issued and is refundable if you do not become a Canadian Permanent Resident.

All applications for Permanent Resident Visas are submitted to designated intake offices in Canada, and the related processing fees must be paid in Canadian dollars. Both the principal applicant and their accompanying spouse/common-law partner must pay this fee before their visa is issued. The RPRF may be paid inside or outside Canada, depending on circumstances, so it’s important to verify with the processing Canadian visa office regarding the currency accepted for the RPRF.

In addition to the immigration application fee, applicants should also anticipate costs for medical examinations and, if necessary, notarization or translation of documents into French or English, as well as the assessment of foreign credentials by a designated Canadian accreditation body.
