The Alberta Express Entry Stream enables the province to nominate individuals who have an active profile in the federal Express Entry system. Candidates with demonstrated ties to Alberta and the skills needed to support the province’s economic growth may receive invitations to apply.

Candidates nominated by Alberta receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, significantly increasing their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the next Express Entry draw.

Application Fee: CAD $500

How It Works:

The Alberta Express Entry Stream operates on an invitation-only basis. Candidates in the Express Entry pool may receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) directly from the Alberta government through the federal system. Invited candidates have a limited time to express their interest in being considered for selection under this stream.

If selected, candidates will be asked to submit an application for provincial nomination, including all required documents, through the AAIP online portal.

Minimum Requirements:

Express Entry Pool: Must be active in the Express Entry pool.
Interest in Alberta: Must express a desire to immigrate to Alberta permanently.
Occupation: Must be employed in a role that contributes to Alberta’s economic development and diversification.
CRS Score: A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300 is required.

Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway

Candidates can start the application process under this fast-track pathway if they are currently employed or have a job offer from an employer in Alberta’s technology sector, and meet the requirements of the Alberta Express Entry Stream. If they fulfill the stream’s criteria, they will receive an invitation from the AAIP to apply for provincial nomination by submitting the necessary documents through the AAIP online portal.
